EFIWE NEWS: UI Students Storms Ojoo Police Station After Two Students Were Detained

According to reports reaching Unibadan Efiwe, two Students of the University of Ibadan were detained on Wednesday evening by Oyo State Police Command, Ojoo District over Phone Charger and this morning, Students of the University stormed Ojoo Police Station to express their displeasure about the detain of two Students.

According to an eye witness who knew about the incident said

"The student in question bought a charger, he realized that it was fake, returned it in annoyance along side his elder brother.

An argument ensued, the police came in, and saw that the young man was on inner camouflage. They (police) later hijacked the situation, beat the two of them mercilessly and detained them(on Wednesday evening), and charged them to court yesterday morning"

"Without informing anybody nor authority. I was there twice yesterday, immediately I heard what happened, but the police told(lied) me that they were released yesterday morning."

According to another eye witness, he said "The atmosphere there is becoming more tense and the rampaging students are yet to soften their stance on this despite the presence of over 20 police patrol vehicles and vans and the stern looking and gun wielding policemen, even the dreadful and fearful operation burst consisting of mainly members of Nigerian army were not allowed to pass."

"They've to take alternate route despite bragging for over 30mins and a lot of power tussle, they net a stiff resistance from the students movement, power of Aluta cannot be underestimated here, and power of students cannot be undermined." He added.

Unibadan Efiwe confirms that the D.P.O has intervened in the Struggle, everything seems to be alright and the two Students would be released as soon as possible.
