EFIWE SPORTS: Why Did Arsenal's Xhaka Celebrate His Fourth Arsenal's Goal In A Shushing Gesture??

Granit Xhaka celebrates scoring the fourth Arsenal goal The reason behind Granit Xhaka's celebration during Arsenal's win over Hull has been explained.

The midfielder netted the final goal of Arsenal's 4-1 win at Hull, finding the back of the net with a long-range effort in injury time.

Celebrating his strike, the £30million summer signing put his finger to his lips and performed a shushing gesture.

Despite suggestions he was making a point to Arsene Wenger after starting the match on the bench, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Granit Xhaka celebrates scoring the fourth Arsenal goalTwitter user @grocanon attempted to explain Xhaka's celebration, saying there was a political reason behind the gesture after Swiss journalists criticised the player for saying he'd be proud to represent Kosovo at international level.

Xhaka, who was born to Kosovo Albanian parents, wanted to switch allegiance from Switzerland after Kosovo were granted FIFA membership earlier this year.

That led to him being criticised in the Swiss media, as he came in for extra flak for missing a penalty in Switzerland's Euro 2016 shootout defeat to Poland in the last 16.

User @grocanon suggested Xhaka had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to silence his critics and knew he'd be able to make his feelings clear when the cameras were on him.

Last month it emerged that Xhaka would be unable to represent Kosovo after playing in the Euros for Switzerland.
