EFIWE INTERVIEWS: You Never Can Tell What You're Capable Of Doing - UI Female Rapper, Mona Queen

 Meet Elizabeth Damilola Joshua aka Mona Queen, a 200 Level Student of the Department of Adult Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan.

Mona Queen is a Songwriter, Performing artiste, Dancer and also a Rapper.

Damilola, who recently released her track titled "Last Chic Standing" had an interview with Unibadan Efiwe and Below is what She has to say to Her fans as She talks about Her Education, Music Career, Upcoming projects, Relationship and many more.

Can We meet You??

I'm Elizabeth Damilola Joshua while my stage name is Mona Queen, a 200 Level Student of the Department of Adult Education, Faculty of Education, University Of Ibadan.

How did You derive your stage Name "Mona Queen"?

From my name, Elizabeth, Queen of England bears that name and She is a monarchical Queen. So it's a combination of monarchy and queen.

What led You into Music? 

I really have passion for it and every time I dream about myself, I see myself doing music.

What really inspired your recent track "Last Chic Standing"?

What really inspired it is just feeling of never giving up, keeping my head up among many other female artists.

What  Year did you venture into Music??

Year 2014 to be precise.

What inspires Your MUSIC?

Whenever I listen to music, hardcore rap, most times when I listen to my mentors.

What message does Your Music pass across?

It depends on the mood I am while writing but most times I emphasize on the hustle.
 How people, girls in particular should keep moving and working hard till they get what they want.

Are You currently signed to any record Label?

No, I'm not.

Apart from Music, What else do You do? 

I dance, a lot.

What are You currently working on, Any Collaborations?? 

No, presently I'm still working on myself.

So You releasing any track pretty soon?? What should they be expecting?

Yeah I am. Well, they should expecting something better, and crazier than. Something different.

How easy/hard was it for You coming into the Music Industry??

I wouldn't say I'm in the Industry yet, cos the industry is yet to notice that I'm in it. So, it's still pretty hard getting into the industry.

What do You Love most about the Music Industry?

The Competition. Every one is trying to be better every day, every one is stepping up their game.

You being in 200Level When you graduate, Do You intend going into Music fully??

Yes, I do big time.

Can You tell Us Your Relationship Status?

Yes, I have a boyfriend.

Do You have any celebrity crush(es)?

Yes, I do.

If You were to work or do collaboration with any Nigerian A List Artiste, Who will that be and Why??

I would love to work with Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Ice prince and Wizkid. Well, they are A-list artistes and they are part of the artistes I look up to. They are good.

How do You Strike a Balance between Your Public and Private Life?? 

I try my possible best to keep private things private.

If You could have One Super power, What would that be and Why? 

The power to change the world. That's because, the world needs a good change.

Tell us little about your family background??

I'm the only child, single parent, that's my mother.

So is your Mum fully in support of your Music Career?

Yes, She is And She believes in me. That's what's best.

What should Your Fans, Friends be looking forward to from You?? 

A better, and quite different Mona Queen. The step up game is going to be strong.

In the next 3 Years, where do You hope to be?? 

Next three years, I'd be some place even I can't believe I'd reach.

Being a Student and also an Artiste, how do you manage your time??

I try my best to keep my music career and education on balance. But honestly, I have no spare time. I'm either hooked up with music or education.

Who are your Role Models in the Music Industry?

Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne , Kendrick Lamar and a lot more.

What are the challenges You face as a Female Artiste?

Most times, I get intimidated and at most amorous advances from as much guys I meet.

What's Your Advice to Your Viewers and Fans?

Just keep doing what you cando best. Support and love is the best I can have from them.
